thankful heart

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest
appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
~John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I am so fortunate to have each of you in my life!  This has been a really crazy year......I don't feel like I've given enough hugs or I love yous!  I thank God everyday for my family and friends!  I am so truly blessed to have my parents, hubby Mark, Devin & Ashley & Candy!  Just in case you've not heard, I am going to be a Mimi, Grandma, Granny.......not sure yet what I want to be called.  I think I'll let the little tike figure it out for me!  We're to find out around December 10th what the sex of the baby is!  Wow, God is great!  And then there's Candy, she's having the trip of a life time in Australia.  If you'd like to follow her adventures go to:  It's really neat to watch your children finding their path and maturing into adult hood.  Devin & Ashley becoming parents and Candy traveling the outback of Australia.

Mark and I went to Gary (Mark's brother-in-law) & Jeanne's (Mark's sister) home today for  our Thanksgiving gathering.  Oh my.....the food was fantastic and the fellowship was delightful! Jeanne has perfected the art of preparing a feast!  My all time favorite is her baked sweet potatoes!!!  yummy
I'm telling you, the entire meal was delish!  Thank YOU, Gary & Jeanne, for a great family gathering!

I had to tell the girl's in the family my funny Black Friday Walmart story from last year!  If you've never gone to Walmart for the Black Friday must.....just once!!!!!!  (most likely you'll never want to go again)  All I'll say for now, is it's another one of those crazy sister stories! heehee....

Great Nieces, Julia and Jacee kept us all in stitches!
(Our other 3 great nieces,Victoria, Bella & Sophia, couldn't be with us today!)
After the wonderful meal we found Jacee and Butter taking a quick lil cat nap!

I'm so behind on my post and so much to tell!  My gosh, I've not had time to tell you about my Silver Bella trip and all my new friends!  Again, that's another great sister story! Right after getting home from Silver Bella I found out that my hand surgery was a must.  It's been scheduled for December 2nd.  Needless to say I've been busy getting the tree & house decorated & my special holiday cards made!  Whoohoo......I'm done and ready! Well....maybe not 100%, but close!

As this Thanksgiving 2010 comes to an end......
I send peace, hugs & love to all!!!!!

Tomatos 101

Over the years, mom and I have struggled with our tomato gardens.  In Spring, we're always so excited to get outside & play in the dirt.  We attempt to out guess Mother Nature!.....hmmmm, that really never works in Oklahoma.  This year, mom took the time to start our plants from seeds.  It was so neat......I bought packages of seeds to donate to the yearly garden and several weeks later I was handed the prettiest little baby tomato plants I'd ever seen.  So, here's where this story is going.....during the planting and giving away of mom's tomato plants, several plants were forgotten about.  When we realized what had happened we both quickly planted and potted these little plants anywhere and in anything available.  The picture you're looking at is one of the forgotten plants!  And believe me when I say "forgotten", it truly has endured being totally ignored! This is where I get to brag on this one, of several,  forgotten tomato plants. I took this picture just a few minutes ago......what a beautiful site, a plate full of sweet juicy tomatoes!  So, here's my new theory about tomato gardening,....grow from seed or purchase your plants, put them in a protected corner of your flower bed, plant in early summer, here and the ground, in a big pot, in a little pot, and water when needed.  The strong will  survive and the weak are gone, like bam....gone!  Yikes, I guess that's why it's really nice to grow from seeds!  (It's cheap!)  Well, that's my updated thoughts on tomatoes, 911, oops, Tomatoes 101!

peace & love to all,

What a VIEW!

What a perfect way to end a perfect day!  (I wish you could see the earthy fall colors glowing from this October full moon) you see a witch?  Or...... maybe a big black cat?  Just joking! heehee  I'll let your imagination run wild with the spooky witches, goblins & stuff!  Although it is that time of year!  Fall is here and I hope you remember that next week we set our clocks back one hour!!!!!  Fall back.....Spring forward!  So on 11-7-2010, we will loose one hour.  That really messes everyone up with getting to church on time!  So, we'll game plan right now to do better! BETTER...... isn't that all we really want to better?  No matter what it is.....a better mom, wife, caretaker, sister, painter, artist, cook, carver, knitter, writer,  musician, friend, okokok.......whatever it may be......we just want and need to be better!  I think that's a very healthy state of mind!  What a challenge to attempt to be better at what it is that sparks your life!  What you desire.  What makes you tick in harmony with your world.  I think my new goal is to be better at.......being better to myself!  Because, if I'm better to myself, I truely believe that it'll carry over into my family life, work, hobbies......everything I am a part of!  Well, that's thoughts on this beautiful full moon Sunday night!  My last thought....where's the chocolate?  here kitty kitty...........hmmmm, here Rex!
peace & love,
